“We noticed that when our clients lose their loved ones they congregate in places that did not give decency to that send off so we decided need to come in and build a structure which can give decency and comfort when they lose their loved ones”.

“You also noticed that we have got state of the art Hessie that we move away from clients being at the back of lories to carry the deceased to the village, we want to give that decency” he said

According to Karakadzai, the facility boasts 120 parking bays, 250-seater auditorium and an additional 50 seater overflow area and a peace garden.

The mortuary space currently has storage for 22 bodies, with the capacity to expand to 66, making it the most convenient and biggest service centre in Malawi.

Karakadzai further reaffirmed Mthuzi funeral Services commitment to providing compassionate, respectful, and comprehensive funeral services to the people of Malawi.

To her part Mayor for Lilongwe City, Her Lord Esther Sagawa described the coming in of Mthuzi Funeral Services as an honor to the residents of Lilongwe.

She said the newly opened state of art facility will help to ease pressure on the already existing Services providers and has appealed for good working relationship amongst them.

“This is the development that we want in the city because it complements to the services that we currently offer as city council and to have Mthuzi offering these services i believe that they are going to be working hand in hand with other service providers to provide very good service to the residents within the City and we are so happy to have a facility like such in Lilongwe” said Sagawa

Mthuzi Funeral Services was launched in December 2020 and opened it’s first Funeral Services centre in January 2021, strategically located in Chipatala Avenue, Blantyre followed by other coffin and sales outlets in Lilongwe and Mzuzu.
