NBS Bank, the official sponsors of Football Association of Malawi (FAM) Charity Shield said it is expecting a large patronage in the upcoming derby between TNM Super League Champions FCB Nyasa Bullets and Mighty Mukuru Wanderers this coming Saturday at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe.

NBS Bank Head of Marketing and customer experience Tamanda Longwe made the remarks on Wednesday in Blantyre during the kits presentation ceremony to Bullets and Wanderers.

Longwe encouraged the soccer lovers to buy tickets as part of contributing towards supporting victims of Tropical Cyclone Freddy in different districts across Southern Region of Malawi.

“we expect Malawians to patronize this game in Large numbers because the calls itself for the Charity Shield is a good one, it’s going to help fellow Malawians who have been affected by Tropical Cyclone Freddy” said Longwe

FAM Marketing Director Limbani Matola concurred with Longwe to urge supporters to buy tickets in support of Freddy victims.

“You recall the state President declared the districts that were affected by the Cyclone Freddy as disaster areas and we all need to hold hands and this is an opportunity for football fans to contribute towards their fellow citizens who are struggling for survival so it’s time for football to contribute” he said

He further thanked NBS Bank for handing over kits to be used by the People’s Team and the Nomads during the season opener.

He also confirmed that FAM has already started selling advance tickets at different places in the three regions as the standard ticket is going at K2000 while the VIP and corporate box tickets are prized at K8000 and K200,000 respectively.
