“It has been a great year and we’ve performed well , we’ve got three champions from the north, South and Centre. Iam excited with the competition which was very stiff than the past seasons” she said

Ntopwa immerged FAM Women’s Southern Region Champion after scooping 39 points in 14 matches, while FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Reserve came second with 37 points.

The Central Region too saw top two teams separated by two points as the champions MDF Lioness finished top with 37 points, two above second placed Ascent Academy.

In the Northern Region, Moyale Barracks were champions with 34 points and the runner up MK academy got 27 points.

Migogo further believes that the stiffness in Regional Leagues was sparked by the participation of Mtopwa FC in CAF Women’s Championship COSAFA Qualifiers.

“There was too much competition due to what happened with Mtopwa team who went to South Africa to participate so it encouraged other teams to work more harder so that they can reach where Mtopwa reached” added Migogo

At the National level she mentioned Scorchers successes at COSAFA Women’s Championship where Malawi Women’s Football team immerged the champions of the competition for the first time in history.

Despite successes, Migogo laments lack of sponsorships to women’s football.

“The challenges which we have encountered so far are lack of sponsorship for competitions, we need to have alot of competitions as much as we can so to enhance competition at the same time motivate our players” she added

Migogo has been in power for the past eight months after being elected as Womens football president back in April when she defeated Suzgo Ngwira Simbi.
