Leading telecommunications company Airtel Malawi Plc has on Thursday launched a Television App called Airtel Tv that will bring convenience to viewers.

The Tv which will be accessible on moblie phones through the Airtel App will only need viewers to be on the Airtel internet connection.

Speaking at the launch of the plartfom, Airtel Malawi marketing director Thokozani Sande said the telecommunications company thought of introducing the plartfom in order to help viewers access entertainment on their fingure tips as well as helping content creators reach their audience.

Sande said Airtel TV is there to fulfil the demand for entertainment that is there for its customers.

“Our team has worked tirelessly to bring convenience to customers. Customers dont have to miss their favorite shows and programs. Airtel Malawi Plc understands the demand for entertainment for its customers thats why we thought of embarking on this project. The platform will also aid content creators to have a space to showcase what they have. We have corroborated with several players to have this service to the people.

On behalf of Zodiak Broadcasting station which is one of the content providers on the Airtel TV App, Zodiak Director of Engineering and Technical services, Haswell Solomon asked for continuity, consistence and quality on this new development.

Solomon said Zodiak is ready to provide well updated content for this plartfom.

“Zodiak believes that the audience deserve the best service. We are thankful to Airtel Malawi Plc for this initiative as it is in tandem with our goals”, said Solomon.

Currently, local media providers Zodiak TV, Times TV and HD Plus with their Fatsani movie now have their channels and content on the app enabling Malawians to access news, programs and films on the platform.

The Airtel TV is available to download on the Apple iOS store and Google Playstore for android and is also already embedded on the my Airtel mobile App.
