Malawi Development programs are often judged by what they deliver, but behind every successful intervention is a less visible process: collecting reliable information, measuring progress, identifying gaps, and using evidence to improve implementation.
At Future4All Malawi, Rossina played an important role in strengthening this process through her work in Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL).
As a MEAL Officer, Rossina worked to ensure that program teams had practical systems for tracking activities and measuring results.
Her responsibilities included developing monitoring and evaluation frameworks, supporting data-quality assurance, and developing evaluation tools for donor-funded development projects.
Her work provided program teams with structured approaches for determining whether activities were being implemented as planned and whether available evidence could support better decisions.
A significant part of her contribution involved introducing and strengthening the use of digital data-collection platforms, particularly KOBO Collect and ODK Collect. These tools allowed information to be gathered systematically and supported more efficient management of monitoring data.
Rossina also trained project staff in their use, helping strengthen internal capacity for data collection, reporting, and accountability.
For Rossina, however, monitoring was not simply about collecting figures. Her work also involved supporting the analysis and interpretation of information so that evidence could contribute to program implementation and organizational learning.

The skills acquired through collecting and analyzing program data, strengthening evaluation systems, and supporting evidence-based decisions have become part of her continuing work in research, sustainable development, and policy analysis.
Rossina’s contribution at Future4All Malawi therefore goes beyond the technical responsibilities associated with a MEAL position.
