Opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP)has asked President Dr Lazarus Chakwera to fire the Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Collen Zamba, accusing her of abusing office.

The call has been made today in Lilongwe, by DPP top officials led by Secretary General Peter Mukhito during press briefing.

Mukhito said Zamba together with minister of transport Jacob Hara and Minister of Agriculture Sam Kawale have been involved in corruption, hence calling for their firing.

He further demanded the arrests of anyone involved in construction, fuel and fertilizer deals.

Leader of Opposition in Parliament George Chaponda claimed that MCP is planning to manipulate next year’s tripartite elections.

Chaponda said MCP is trying influence Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) to insist on using national ID as primary method for voter registration.

He further argued that relying on national ID’s could disenfranchise a significant number of eligible voters who have yet to receive their ID’s.

Director of Youth for DPP, N orman Chisale has rebuked impunity and acts of violence against members of Democratic Progressive Party.
