The main opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) National Government Council (NGC) has endorsed President Peter Mutharika as their candidate during the 2025 Presidential Election.
Theis follows the party’s NGC meeting held on Monday at Nkopola Lodge in Mangochu.
According to a circular, amomg other, the party have approved the re-constitution of the party’s disciplinary committee comprised of seven members with Dr George Chaponda as the chairperson and also approved that the Central Executive Committee should set specific dates for extra ordinary and political convention.
It further said that the members have set December 2023 for an Extra Ordinary Convention to adopt the new constitution and uly 2024 for the National Political Convention to elect leaders.
