Some online reports indicate that Malawi Congress Party (MCP) national executive committee member Uladi Mussa has resigned from the party, and subsequently retired from active politics.
According to the reports, Mussa’s resignation is due to the party’s poor performance in the just-ended September 16 general elections.
However, this publication has found that those reports are false.
In an interview, Mussa stated that he remains an MCP member and has no intention of resigning from the party or retiring from active politics.
“They are even claiming that I contested as a parliamentary candidate, but the truth is that I did not contest in the recent elections,” he said.
