I want to help Chakwera defends presidential seat – Vera Kamtukule after joining MC

Tourism Minister Vera Kamtukule has dumped UTM and joined the ruling Malawi Congress Party (MCP).

Speaking during the unveiling ceremony at MCP headquarters in Lilongwe, Kamtukule said she made the decision after being convinced that President Lazarus Chakwera is determined to develop the country.

She further said that her main agenda is to help Chakwera to defend his seat as President of the republic of Malawi.

“The plans are to ensure that Chakwera is maintained as President of this country in 2025,” she said

Kamtukule denied that the decision has been made for her to defend her ministerial position.

Mkaka further claimed that the party is expecting to receive many people who are set to dump their respective parties.

This comes barely a day after Deputy Director of Legal Affairs in Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Councillor Oscar Thaulo announced that he has joined MCP.
