MedHealth General Manager Medson Chitsulo has stepped behind the reception desk this week as part of the company’s activities to commemorate Customer Service Week.

Chitsulo is spending time working as a receptionist to appreciate frontline staff and gain first-hand experience of how customers interact with the company.

Customer Service Week, observed from October 6 to 10 this year, is an annual international celebration recognising frontline professionals and promoting a strong customer-focused culture.

This year’s theme is “The Extra Mile.”

Speaking in an interview, Chitsulo said he chose to take up the receptionist role to lead by example and demonstrate that customer service is the responsibility of everyone in an organisation.

“Customer service is not just for the front office. It starts from the top. By working as a receptionist, I want to understand our customers better and appreciate the great work our team does every day,” he said.

Chitsulo said the theme challenges employees to go beyond the ordinary in serving customers.

He added that MedHealth remains committed to putting customer satisfaction at the centre of its operations and providing quality service.

Customers who visited the company’s offices on Monday expressed surprise and delight at being welcomed by the General Manager himself.

MedHealth is one of Malawi’s leading health service providers.
