“We are delighted to announce that we have entered into partnership with Infraworks Holdings Ltd who from the beginning of next season will be official kit sponsors for Karonga United” said Karonga United chairman Alufeyo Chipanga

Chipanga who has been supporting the team financially since it’s promotion into the elite League six years ago further thanked Infraworks Holdings Ltd saying the sponsorship will ease challenges that were existing.

However, Chipanga has promised to help promote the brand of their partners by winning domestic competitions.

Infraworks Holdings Limited Managing director Boyd Mwabutwa said they decided to support Karonga United to help the team become a better brand in the local league.

“We believe this sponsorship is going to make the team more resilient, more exciting and become a better brand in the local league, we want to create excitement, we shouldn’t always see same teams doing better in the country” said Mwabutwa

On his part, Super League of Malawi President Fleetwood Haiya said the partnership is another step in the right direction for the commercial side of the club.

“As Super League of Malawi we are very proud, we are very happy, we have seen now that we are baring fruits of what we have been preaching as you are aware that we did mention that it’s only when our club are being run as professional clubs more sponsors and partners are going to come”

“Today we are witnessing this partnership, Infraworks together with Karonga United and it is my belief that more sponsors are going to come and sponsor more teams in the Super League and indeed iam proud and happy that Infraworks did not limit Karonga United to only have them as sponsors but they have indicated that the door is open for other sponsors” said Haiya

The unveiling ceremony was glanced by the Minister of Local Government Richard Chimwendo Banda who procured the replica jersey at K1.5million while Sulom President Fleetwood Haiya bought it at K1million.
