“We are set for the the inaugural international music show with Makhadzi in Mponela this weekend and preparations are almost through although there are some touches we need to do but we are almost done,” he said

Nyirongo said so far, the response from the general public has been good as a lot of people have been buying tickets since they were put on the market.

“So far so good although most people started buying tickets after Makhadzi confirmed on her page that she is coming, but the way tickets are selling now shortly we will run out of stock,” said Nyirongo

Ony why he decided to take such a big artist away from the city to the district, Nyirongo said this is one way of bringing entertainment closer to the rural masses.

“First of all we want to take entertainment outside town. Secondly as a lodge we decided to have an entertainment event venue so that we expand our source of income in these tough times,” said adding that people should expect more international artists as well as more local shows both secular and gospel to perform at Hillside Lodge in Mponela.

The Black Missionaries, Anthony Makondetsa, Lulu, Janta, Patrick Mkumbi and Driemo are expected to curtain raise the show.

“I just want to urge people to come in large numbers to witness and enjoy the music of Makhadzi and other popular local artists,” he said

Ndivhudzannyi Ralivhona, known professionally as Makhadzi is a Mozambican singer and musician, but who grew up and lives in South Africa. She is best known for her songs “Tshanda Vhuya” and “Matorokisi.”

Makhadzi’s first album was released in 2012, and she has released 6 albums as of 2020. Makhadzi used to perform at Taxi ranks, getting money from people’s offerings

Hillside Lodge is in Mponela along the M1 road just 20m from the road and benealth the Mpanda Hills.

We offer conference services, accomodation and restaurant, they also have two swimming pools and a children playin area with Jungle gym, jumping castles, tampolins and soon they will also starting offering Quid Bikes for any person above 18 yrs old.

Makhadzi will be hosted at their entertainment section.
