Betway company has unveiled a K65 million kit sponsorship to Silver Strikers football club for the 2024 TNM Super League season.

Through the partnership, Betway logo will appear on the front of the team’s shirts, and all other branded regalia for all the club’s teams, thus the Men’s senior team, Reserve team, U-20 Youth team and the Women’s Football team.

Betway chief operating officer Charles Phiri said the gesture is an expression of Betways commitment to promoting football in the country.

“When you look at the betway brand we are largely associated with sports, especially football. So we want to promote football by investing and this is just the beginning”

“Our expectations is just see the Club continue where it has already started, you can see they have started the season well and more importantly for us is to see that stability, Silver Strikers has been one of the more stable teams in the country and it has been in the Super League for the longest time so we expect to see that performance to continue” said Phiri

For his part, Silver Strikers Chief Executive Officer Patrick Chimimba thanked betway for the overwhelming response after calling for partners earlier this year.

“Silver Strikers we are very excited because of the partnership with Betway, an internationally recognized brand. From February we put up a call for partners and one of the issues that we wanted was kit sponsor, we’ve received an overwhelming response and it’s exciting on our part that today are launching this partnership” said Chimimba

Representing Super League of Malawi, Executive Member William Nhlane appealed to the supporters of all Super League teams to exercise discipline as one way of attracting partners

“Sponsors want discipline, they also want a win – win situation so I’ll just want to encourage all teams to maintain that as they look for partners” said Nhlane

Currently the Bankers leads the TNM Super League standings with 13 points from five games.
