KANJIRA MAKES IT FIVE IN FOUR GAMES
Olson Kanjira has made it five goals in his last four games as Kamuzu Barracks beat Chitipa United 2-0 in the TNM Super League on Sunday.
Kanjira scored once in the first round as he started playing games towards the end of the first round but now he has scored five goals in four back to back games against Moyale Barracks, Ekwendeni Hammers, Mighty Wanderers Wanderers before the latest brace against Chitipa United.
The towering striker has three goals against Super League top four while his double against Chitipa United took his tally to six goals.
RUNNING OUT OF STEAM
Chitipa United’s Super League title hopes were dealt a potentially fatal blow as Kamuzu Barracks stormed to a 2-0 win at the Kasungu Stadium.
A win could have send Chitipa United on top but their mission was dented.
The title is not yet decided yet but Chitipa’s Super League title challenge is running out of steam as they trail leaders FCB Nyasa Big Bullets with a single point.
With seven games to go for Chitipa United, they have accumulated 39 points while Bullets have 40 points as they remain with 10 games to play.
LIONS KEEPS LIMPING
Red Lions’ winless Super League run extended to to five after 2-0 defeat at home against Blue Eagles FC.
Their last win was recorded on 13th August 2023 when they beat Silver Strikers 1-0 at Balaka Stadium but since then they have lost all five games, conceding nine time while scoring just once.
The Zomba based Soldiers lays 15th on standings with 22 points from 18 games.
