Reports that Gerald Kampanikiza has resigned as chairperson of Goshen City Dedza Dynamos have emerged as FDH Bank Premiership clubs return from their mid-season break ahead of the second round.
Kampanikiza resigned as the team’s CEO on Wednesday, citing differences within the club’s top leadership disagreements.
When contacted, Goshen City Dedza Dynamos chief executive officer Hazwell Gamphani said he had just seen the letter on social media and was yet to receive it in his office.
“As of now, I cannot say a lot about it. But I am sure that whether it is true or a rumour, I will get confirmation in my office so that we can map the way forward together with the executive,” Gamphani said.
Some football analysts have described the reported leadership change as a possible strategic move to strengthen the club’s chances as teams prepare for the second round. However, the club has not issued an official statement.
On the pitch, Dedza Dynamos’ form has fluctuated this season. As of the latest standings around mid-September 2026, the team sits 12th in the 16-team FDH Bank Premiership with 15 points from 15 matches (three wins, six draws and six losses).
They were as low as 14th after seven matches with only four points, and 13th with 13 points from 13 games before the latest update.
The club is expected to clarify Kampanikiza’s position as it prepares for the second round.
