The Eastern Region Football Association (ERFA) has officially postponed the kickoff of the Durata Regional Division League One second round. The league was initially scheduled to resume on September 19, 2026, but has now been moved to September 26, 2026.
According to a press statement released on September 16 by ERFA General Secretary Elia C Nyirongo, the postponement was necessitated by administrative delays among competing teams. Several clubs have failed to register on the Mpira Connect system, while others have registered their teams but omitted their players and officials from the platform.
The one-week extension is intended to give these delayed teams a final opportunity to complete their registration processes.
Nyirongo emphasized that this will be the final extension, stating that ERFA will accept no further excuses. Starting September 26, all registration rules will be strictly enforced. Any official or player whose registration is incomplete or still pending on Mpira Connect will be barred from participating in or sitting on the bench for any ERFA match.
Teams have been strongly advised to ensure that all player transfers are fully completed and that no team member is left with a pending registration status.
Furthermore, the directive extends to the Durata Regional Division League Two. Participating teams have been advised to complete their registrations promptly, as the exact same strict enforcement rules will apply for their second round.
